Kazakhstan’s Air Forces received new C-295 military transport aircraft

Airbus has delivered the fifth military cargo planes C-295 to Kazakhstan’s Air Forces, that reported by military-informant.com.
By 2018 the military fleet of Kazakhstan will have been equipped with a total of 8 C-295 aircraft.
The plane arrived from the Spanish Sevilla at the air base in Almaty. “The flight was carried out in three stages along the route through Spain, Greece, Azerbaijan”, – says reported.
The plane was met the First Deputy Minister of Defence – the chief of the General Staff colonel general Saken Zhasuzakov and the commander-in-chief Air Defence Forces Nurlan Ormanbetov.
C-295 is a multi-functional military cargo plane with the flying range of 5,500km and the cargo capacity of 9 tons or 73 militarymen. It can be re-equipped into a medical plane for transportation of 41 injured persons. C-295s are used by Air Defense Forces in 12 countries. The new planes of Kazakhstan Air Defense Forces are called to replace outdated An-26s. According to Airbus, Kazakhstan plans to use the aircrafts for transportation of militarymen and armament to the country’s remote regions.
