Indonesian Su-30MK2 long-range strike fighter arrives from Belarus after overhaul, reported by defenseworld.net. One Indonesian Su-30MK2 has arrived at the Sultan Hasanuddin airbase after undergoing overhaul in Belarus.
The aircraft was transported to Indonesian airbase Thursday by Antonov An-124-100 aircraft. The arrival of fighter aircraft Sukhoi SU-30 MK2, tail number TS-3006 who have completed the treatment will add to the strength of Air Squadron 11 which is the home base fighter aircraft SU-27/30 MK2 in Lanud Sultan Hasanuddi.
The Sukhoi Su-30MK2 is a modification of the Sukhoi Su-30, incorporating advanced technology from the Sukhoi Su-35 variant. Su-30MK2 is a further improvement to Su-30MKK with upgraded avionics and maritime strike capabilities.
The MKK and MK2 are currently operated by thePeople’s Liberation Army Air Force, Indonesian Air Force, Vietnam People’s Air Force, Venezuelan Air Force and the Ugandan Air Force. Su-30MK was developed by Sukhoi Company , as a result of a direct Request for tender between the Russian Federation and China.
