Indonesia may buy Russian amphibious aircraft Be-200

Indonesia will buy Russian-designed Beriev Be-200 aircraft to help prevent illegal fishing.
Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov held a meeting with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce of Indonesia during a working visit to Jakarta. “Manturov expressed Russia’s readiness for closer cooperation with Indonesian partners,” the press release said.
In particular, during the meeting they discussed the possibility on the part of Indonesia to consider the purchase of Russian amphibian aircraft Be-200.
The Beriev Be-200 Altair is a multipurpose amphibious aircraft designed by the Beriev Aircraft Company. Marketed as being designed for fire fighting, search and rescue, maritime patrol, cargo, and passenger transportation, it has a capacity of 12 tonnes (12,000 litres, 3,170 US gallons) of water, or up to 72 passengers.
