French troops continues to actively support Syrian Democratic Forces against the ISIS in Syria.
The U.S. Army released footage on social media, saying: “French army Caesars, self-propelled howitzers, fire into the Middle Euphrates River Valley from Iraq”.
The French are part of the Combine Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, their Caesars are supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces in Syria as they clear the last remaining pockets of ISIS from the Middle Euphrates River Valley.
Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) is the Joint Task Force established by the US-led international coalition against the ISIS, set up by the US Central Command to coordinate military efforts against ISIS (Da’esh), and is composed of US military forces and personnel from over 30 countries.
ISIS continues to violate the Law of Armed Conflict and misuse protected structures like hospitals and religious sites, which causes the facility to lose its protected status. Despite these tactics, Coalition and partner forces continue to make offensive gains against ISIS with the assistance of Coalition precision strikes.
CJTF-OIR works by, with and through partner forces to defeat ISIS in designated areas of Iraq and Syria.
Just a few days ago, the commander of Task Force Rifles Col. Jonathan C. Byrom said that “ISIS remnants” has been degraded so much that are hiding in the desert.
Speaking to Pentagon reporters, Jonathan C. Byrom said: “the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria controlled a self-proclaimed caliphate that stretched from Syria to Iraq, but now that force in Iraq has been degraded so much that the remnants are hiding in caves, deep wadis and tunnels in the desert and hills of western Iraq’s austere terrain.”
