France’ Special Forces Received First Batch of PLFS Special Forces Heavy Vehicles

The France’s Special Forces have received the first batch of new special forces heavy vehicles (PLFS – Poids Lourd des Forces Spéciales) based on Sherpa, the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) announced on 30 January 2017.
These vehicles form part of the first batch of 25 units designed to meet the most urgent needs. The PLFS is a developed by Renault Trucks Defence (RTD).
In December 2015, French army has signed a contract with Renault Trucks Defense for the delivery of 202 PLFS (poids lourds des forces spéciales – Special Forces Heavy Vehicle) and 241 VLFS ‘(véhicules légers des forces spéciale- Special Forces Light Vehicle) especially designed for Special Forces.
