Former head of DARPA told how Ukraine can use UkrARPA

UkrOboronProm adviser on long-term development, former head of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Anthony Tether told how UkrOboronProm can use UkrARPA.

The SC “UkrOboronProm” creates UkrARPA on the model of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), USA.
UkrARPA will convert Ukraine’s great potential into solving the problems that will enhance its economic and security future. It will focus on solving the problems that keep Ukraine from becoming great again”, – said Anthony Tether in his speech, held in the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center in Kyiv.
Anthony J. Tether (born ca. 1942) served as director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) from June 18, 2001, until February 20, 2009.
UkrARPA is to become the platform that will bring together developers, startups, investment funds and military. It will unite advanced scientific thought, investments, exchange mechanism and protection of technologies.
“Implementation of UkrARPA is one of the key areas of reform of the defense industry of Ukraine by means of scientific and production potential, ideas and practical solutions. All we need is to put this powerful energy into action,” – said the head of the SC” UkrOboronProm” Roman Romanov.
Deputy Director General for Development Artur Kheruvymov explained how during this week the concept of UkrARPA was represented to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the Member of Parliament of Ukraine and representatives of higher educational establishments.
According to Ukraine, the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation of Ukrainian defense and industrial complex with DARPA is an important factor for having access to advanced defense technologies for Ukraine with the purpose of increasing efficiency of resisting to Russia’s aggression.
