Dump truck collided with tractor-trailer carrying UAE’s new anti-tank carrier in Russia

A dump truck hit a tractor-trailer carrying new Nimr Ajban anti-tank carrier on August in Tula Oblast, Russia.
According to the myslo.ru, the accident, which happened on 24 August, damaged anti-tank missile system owned by the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces that was carried on the tractor-trailer.
Nobody was injured in the accident.
The new anti-tank missile system is based on the Nimr Abjan wheeled chassis and is equipped with Russian-made Kornet E laser-guided anti-tank missiles.
Early, Russian arms agency Rosoboronexport has been awarded an AED2.6 billion (US$708 million approx) contract by the UAE Armed Forces to supply anti-armour missiles for equipped new Nimr’s anti-tank carrier.
The Kornet E laser-guided anti-tank missiles manufacturing by the KBP Instrument Design Making Bureau in Tula, right next to the accident site.
The vehicle-mounted anti-tank guided missile system is designed for use against current and future tanks, light-armored vehicles, fortifications, low-speed air, surface and other targets by day and at night in adverse weather conditions and in enemy’s radio and optical jamming environment.
Small size, big lethality of warheads (missile with HEAT warhead engages modern tanks, missile with HE warhead in terms of lethality is compared to artillery round of big caliber) as well as significant firing range allow to deliver the system to air mobile troops, assault groups and special forces.
The system can be fitted to a variety of tracked and wheeled vehicles, including the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle or newest UAE-made Nimr Ajban highly protected military mobility 4×4 vehicle.
The Nimr Ajban is a purpose designed military vehicle with 4×4 configuration. It is an updated version of the original Nimr, that appeared back in 2005.
