Czech MoD plans to buy new CZ Bren 2 assault rifles as part of massive contract

The Czech Ministry of Defence (MoD) plans to procure a 14,000 CZ Bren 2 assault rifles for the Army of the Czech Republic (ACR), according to Euro.cz.
On Monday, December 17, the Czech government to discuss the purchase of new small arms for country’s defense forces, including newest assault rifles developed by company Ceska Zbrojovska.
“The framework agreement, covers the years 2019 to 2025 and should allow us to buy small firearms in Uherský Brod according to our real needs. In particular, up to 19,000 CZ 75 Phantom pistols and 14,000 Bren assault rifles are to go.” said a senior official of the Ministry of Defense.
According to Ceska Zbrojovska, or also named CZ, the Bren 2 light battle rifle was designed to meet the most demanding requirements of special units and armed forces operating anywhere in the world.
Available in NATO calibers, the rifle is aimed at users who require a light, versatile and absolutely reliable weapon under extreme conditions.
