China unveils the prototype of high-speed amphibious combat vehicle
Posted on
The North China Institute of Vehicle Research has disclosed details of a prototype high-speed amphibious combat vehicle.
The new high-speed amphibious combat vehicle has been developed for military littoral, riverine and special operations. The prototype weighs 5.5 tons.
Its four wheels can deflect to the chassis struts at 70 degrees thus reducing resistance during a high-speed sprint. The wheels retract and the vehicle moves by means of a small jet-propulsion system. The steering wheel and accelerator are used for water in the same way they are used on land.
What’s unknown at this point – its range (land and sea), cruising speed, development status and buoyancy.
