On September 5-8, 2017, Poland’s state-run defense company Bumar-Labedy SA will exhibit a new upgraded variant of the T-72 main battle tank (MBT) known as the PT-17.
According to the Polish TV channel, the Bumar-Labedy has developed new variants of its T-72 main battle tank for increasing the level of protection of combat vehicles. The new design of PT-17 incorporates a number of lethality, survivability and systems enhancements.
Major improvement of PT-17 includes the integration of new gun-and-fire control system, improved electronic countermeasure systems, anti-tandem-warhead explosive “reactive armor” and new panoramic tank sight.
Bumar-Labedy is part of the state-run Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), an entity set up by the Polish authorities to integrate the country’s fragmented state-owned defense industry.
