Notably, Architecture and Engineering Occupations jobs accounted for a 20% share of the British’s aerospace, defence and security industry new job postings in Q1 2023, down by 11% over the prior quarter.
Architecture and Engineering Occupations drive aerospace, defence and security hiring activity
Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Architecture and Engineering Occupations, which accounted for 20% of the total new job postings in Q1 2023 and were up by 59% year-on-year. Second highest were Computer and Mathematical Occupations, which accounted for 17% and rise by 60% year-on-year, and third highest were Management Occupations, which were 28% of the new job postings and 20% higher year-on-year.
Top five companies in aerospace, defence and security accounted for 55% of hiring activity
The highest number of jobs were posted by James Fisher and Sons with 954, followed by Raytheon Technologies with 582, while the highest increase was at Rolls-Royce at 13%.
