As part of National Police Week, the names of three Department of the Air Force defenders were read aloud during a candlelight vigil.

Department of the Air Force senior leaders visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., to pay their respects on National Vietnam War Veteran’s Day.

McCoy, who served as the first senior enlisted advisor of Strategic Air Command and was selected as one of the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year in 1974, passed away July 13, at the age of 91.

Retired Brig. Gen. Wilma L. Vaught received the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House July 7.
