A lot has been said about Veterans Day, whether it be through TV, radio, or the internet. But the Wounded Warrior Project wants to know: What does Veterans Day mean to you?

We received a note about this amazing group of third-graders from their music teacher, Mr. Souders. Their teacher told us, "a 'thank you' is not worth much if it doesn't reach the ears of the people you're trying to thank," and asked us to help out.

What does the American flag mean to you? What does it represent? Our history? Our freedom? Our independence? What do you think it means to our troops? These are all great questions but we all as individuals will have a different answer. Some answers will be repeated of course and others will be very original...

They said goodbye in their own way.

It wasn’t until he served in Iraq and Afghanistan that Staff Sgt. Nathan Fair saw his guitar as an escape. He’d play whenever he had a chance, whether it be for himself or for his fellow soldiers. Once back in the United States, Fair understood that his guitar and his voice represented something else.

All of them are completely unique and incredibly powerful.

On August 10th, 2014, Carroll Dick celebrated his 105th birthday with friends and family, as well as with dozens of people he’d never met before. They came to pay respect, these strangers, to a man who continues to add to his beautiful life.
