Are schools for military for special forces whether it be marsoc marines or navy seals or even rangers, are the schools more of a “try out” you have to be chosen out of everybody or more of, if you make it through without giving up you pass?

I often get asked if I'm a veteran by employers. I've never pretended that I am a veteran. I was in the army, made it through basic and infantry school. After 3 weeks at my first duty station, I went to the Doctor to seek help and treatment for depression.
My squad leader was extremely disappointed and angry that I had gone to the doctor, and was treated as if I was convicted of a crime. That's...

What are miniguns actually used for in the army?

Hey, so I’m not a huge military hardware/armaments nerd like some of the people I know, so I have a question: what are miniguns actually used for in the army? Like in movies and video games there’s this picture of somebody holding a minigun and just mowing down people, but is that actually what miniguns are used for? Is it even possible for a minigun to be used in that way?
How true is the idea that going to behavioral health can negatively impact your career?
